Brighton Media Centre (BMC) is the umbrella organisation which really has initiated practical support and development for the design/creative industries in Brighton. Since 1992 BMC has facilitated the growth of the local cluster by offering serviced office accommodation, good facilities, networking events, exhibitions, electronic networks, business support and information services aimed specifically at the sector.
The newly formed City of Brighton & Hove is now a UK location of pure excellence for all forms of media practice, and BMC is renowned nationally and now also internationally for its good experience in cluster development and management competence. BMC aims to continue its big expansion in Brighton with further development of the model and promotion of the sector.
Lighthouse achieve a successful National Lottery bid for nearly £1m to purchase the freehold of the building at 9-12 Middle Street and to take over the running and benefit of that building.
BMC are one of the first organisations to join the new Digital Content Forum, established to promote the digital creative industries in the UK.
The Gallery hosts the interactive sonic installation presented by Daikan and BN1 - just one of 9 exhibitions held that year.
