Brighton Media Centre (BMC) is the umbrella organisation which really has initiated practical support and development for the design/creative industries in Brighton. Since 1992 BMC has facilitated the growth of the local cluster by offering serviced office accommodation, good facilities, networking events, exhibitions, electronic networks, business support and information services aimed specifically at the sector.
The newly formed City of Brighton & Hove is now a UK location of pure excellence for all forms of media practice, and BMC is renowned nationally and now also internationally for its good experience in cluster development and management competence. BMC aims to continue its big expansion in Brighton with further development of the model and promotion of the sector.
2001
BizVizion - the business development service - launched in association with BMC.
BMC joins the Broadband Stakeholders group, promoting the interests of the creative industries in the development of data technology.
BMC Gallery hosts Rankin's “Celebritation” exhibition of celebrity photographic portraits.
Photo-Media, in partnership with BMC, opens at 15-17 Middle Street, providing professional photographic studios, equipment, darkrooms and training.
Sussex Womens’ Alternative Networking Evening held in the Gallery for local businesswomen.
Alfresco hosts BMC's Christmas party.
