BMC IS MOVING HOUSE

The BMC main office is moving over to 15-17 Middle Street this month.

BMC's lease on the 9-12 Middle Street gallery space is due to expire which means the main admin office will be moving over to the renovated offices at the reception point of 15-17 Middle Street.

This move will mean all BMC staff and reception points are housed within BMC buildings, offering a more streamlined and effective management structure for our clients.

Despite the positive benefits of the move it will be sad to say goodbye to the 9-12 Middle Street Gallery which has held lots of innovative and popular exhibitions over the years. All future exhibitions will be now shown in the basement exhibition space at Friese Greene House.

The usual numbers and email addresses for BMC staff will apply and the new full address for BMC admin office will be: Brighton Media Centre, Friese Greene House, 15-17 Middle Street, Brighton BN1 1AL. Please check your records and ensure that any references to the 9-12 Middle Street address are replaced with the new one.

While there is no obvious theme to the exhibition, working in the same studio has cultivatesd an interest and involvement in each others work, generating conceptual links.

On the second day an open forum will be held, led by artist Chris Stevens. This aims to encourage discussion and a sharing of ideas with the public.

Notices

BEWARE OF DOMAIN NAME PAYMENT SCAM

A colleague has told us to beware if we receive a phone call from a company called worldwidebusinessdomain.com: "They said my other company domain names at .net .org, and .co.uk were being registered by another local business which could allow them to transfer web-based enquirers from my business to the other by using a domain name like my own.

"They claimed to be a registration agency (which is true) and they said I could stop them immediately if I could afford to buy those extra domain names at £100-200 each. Technically they are just charging 100-200% more for a bona fide service. As I am completing a revamp of my own website site below they caught me at a "sensitive" time and they were very plausible on the phone seeking credit card payment. I declined their immediate payment offer and I asked for a proforma invoice which subsequently showed they had no company registration details. My new website designer also warned me to watch out."

This UK scam has just been reported in Canada: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff141618.htm
