FRIESE GREENERY - THE GREAT OUTDOORS!
Client secret garden no longer a secret!
For some time there have been building works in the rear garden at Friese-Greene House, which are now complete. This has released
the area for use by all of you, and this includes BMC clients from 68 Middle Street 21-22 Old Steyne as well as
from 15-17 Middle Street. We are keeping the rear door open all day whenever weather allows, and there are some
chairs and a table there already. We would like to encourage any clients to use this rather delightful space:
- take your lunch out there.
- when feeling like a break from their desk, for anyone who wants some fresh air and a bit of greenery.
- for those who smoke, it is off the street, and will avoid smokers hanging around the main entrance.
- for informal meetings and such-like events - possibly even barbecues! (Ask the Site Manager first!)
We will be undertaking a series of improvements to the garden, with plants and shrubs, more chairs and tables, and
possibly some kind of weather-resistant structure so that it can be used even in the rain and cold. We think it will
come to be a well-used retreat from the office for all of you!

BMC SPONSORS FESTIVAL THAT BRINGS FAITHS TOGETHER IN HARMONY
|
BMC has become one of the sponsors of the exciting new Brighton Festival of World Sacred Music, which sets
out to promote understanding and tolerance between people of different faiths.
'All the major faith traditions use the most amazing music to express spiritual yearning and ecstasy.
This festival is a chance to experience everything from Gospel to Indian raags, and Sufi song to Hassidic
dance music,' says Kate Whyman, the festival director, who is based at BMC's Old Steyne site.
The festival, which takes place 19-23 October, is inspired by the hugely successful Fez Festival
of World Sacred Music in Morocco and has a great line-up of musicians including:
|
Dhafer Youssef - outstanding Tunisian-born singer and oud player from the Sufi tradition
The Burning Bush - mystical and celebratory music from the Jewish tradition
Soname - haunting mountain songs from Tibet
Black Voices - all-female a cappella Gospel group
Baluji Shrivastav - sitar master
- plus a host of local musicians from different faith traditions.
The festival has the backing of Peter Gabriel and a number of local political and religious dignitaries
including Cllr Tehmtan Framroze and Imam Dr Abduljalil Sajid. It also has funding from Arts Council England,
Southeast.
Tickets are available from the Dome Box Office, New Road, Brighton BN1 1UE, Tel: 01273 709709.

Exhibition-less

They have ranged from exhibitions taking part in The Brighton Fringe and Hip Hop Festivals through to promotional events for designer clothes-ranges.
It has also attracted innovative shows by first and second year students from the Universities
of Brighton and Sussex.
|
If you would like to find out more about exhibiting in our Gallery, please contact Helene Taylor on 01273 201371, or
