FAIRTRADE FAIR & FARMERS MARKET Don't miss the last fair before Christmas on Saturday 11th December between 11am and 4pm. The Friends' Meeting House in Ship Street holds a farmers market and fairtrade fair once a month. You can buy food, clothes, arts and crafts and it may be an opportunity to buy some great gifts for Christmas. KING ALFRED & BRAD PITT Have your say on the proposals for a new development at the King Alfred Centre. Brighton & Hove City Council, Karis Holdings and the property arm of the Dutch bank ING have signed the agreement for a £220m development which proposes to build a sport and lesiure centre and 590 homes at the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove. The architectural team of Frank Gehry, Piers Gough and Hok Sport are working with artist Antony Gormly. According to the Argus, Brad Pitt is also involved, working as an intern with Frank Gehry in his Los Angeles studios! The designs will be available for public viewing come June 2005 but the Hove Business Association is keen to get views from businesses in the city about the plans. They have arranged a meeting on Tuesday 15th February. If you would like to attend, email Martin Lawrence at hba@lawrence.co.uk.
