HALL OF FAME

Don't forget the BMC 'Hall of Fame'.

Pass on your newspaper clippings and other promotion to your reception point so we can include your successes in the Hall of Fame! If we get enough material from you, it will be up and running in the reception points some time in the new year.

Make the most of the opportunity and pass news clippings and press releases to your reception today!

SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY

We have had a lot of birthdays at BMC recently and to celebrate we held a surprise party in the BMC Gallery for Technical Manager, Sam Tolton, Chairman, Ian Elwick and Managing Director, Don Elwick.

It proved to be a very sociable event, enjoyed by a good number of directors from our client companies - very nice to see you there!

Happy Birthday, Sam, Ian and Don!

Holly BMC Exhibitions

THE BLUE FOREST

Hanamaro Chaki's paintings are on display in the BMC Gallery.

BlueForest
Hana says of her work, "Paintings with symbolic motifs such as the animal head portraits try to focus on states of mind such as anxiety, cruelty and insanity. My paintings are about the hidden nature of such feelings."

"Although the themes of my paintings are based on personal experience...the narrative of these images could inspire their own story...this happened on [my] last exhibition in Barcelona. Some audience members later wrote me stories and poems about my paintings."

Hana is a Tokyo-born artist and studied printmaking at the University of Brighton. She has been living and working in Barcelona since she graduated and this exhibition marks her first in the UK. For more information, contact Hanna at hana@hanamaro.com, or the gallery at gallery@mediacentre.org

BMC Gallery, 9-12 Middle Street from 3rd December to 16th December. The private view is on Friday 3rd December between 7 and 10pm. Please do come along.

MAKING AN EXHIBITION OF ITSELF

This is the first show from the Neighbourhood collective of international artists in the Friese Greene Gallery.

Dove

Dove
'Neighbourhood' artists work across different media using distinct styles, from canvas to light, abstract to conventional. The common theme is a fresh modern approach with intelligent influences. This exhibition features the recent work of four artists: William Rowe, Bevan Parker, Amy Olds and Richard Copping.

William Rowe's Protein Profiler is a DNA Art concept that allows viewers to extract, display and analyse their own genetic code. Bevan Parker is exhibiting his contemporary, modern acrylic paintings. Amy Olds is showing four large paintings that combine poured paint - fluid and accidental - with bold pattern and subtle colour relationships. Richard Copping produces maximum impact artwork using precision cut vinyl, for this exhibition, celebrating the back stage world of the rock 'n' roll arena.

For more information contact neighbourhood@gmail.com, or the gallery at gallery@mediacentre.org.

Friese Greene Gallery, 15-17 Middle Street from 2nd December to 9th December. The private view is on Thursday 2nd December from 6 to 9pm. All BMC clients are welcome.

KING ALFRED & BRAD PITT

Have your say on the proposals for a new development at the King Alfred Centre.

Brighton & Hove City Council, Karis Holdings and the property arm of the Dutch bank ING have signed the agreement for a £220m development which proposes to build a sport and lesiure centre and 590 homes at the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove.

The architectural team of Frank Gehry, Piers Gough and Hok Sport are working with artist Antony Gormly. According to the Argus, Brad Pitt is also involved, working as an intern with Frank Gehry in his Los Angeles studios! The designs will be available for public viewing come June 2005 but the Hove Business Association is keen to get views from businesses in the city about the plans. They have arranged a meeting on Tuesday 15th February. If you would like to attend, email Martin Lawrence at hba@lawrence.co.uk.

Visit these links to find out more about the project: The Argus and Brighton & Hove City Council.
