>>>GUESS WHO? WINNER
We would like to congratulate Joe at Runtime Collective who correctly guessed that the pic in last months ENews was in fact our lovely Old Steyne site manager, Christine.

This month GUESS WHO this cutie is:

Who am I? Send your answer to Emily and the winner will be chosen at random from the correct entries.

>>>BIBIC - BRITISH INSTITUTE FOR BRAIN INJURED CHILDREN
BIBIC Together we raised £38 from the first box of toner cartridges you all saved for this charity to help Phoebe Elwick. Ian Elwick would like to thank everyone for their help so far.

He and Medeni took Phoebe to the Institute in Somerset last week and came away with the most useful assessment of her condition to date and a huge programme of helpful and practical exercises to follow through with her.

The institute does not receive any government funding and yet they do seem to be leaders in the UK for offering practical advice and help to parents of children who may be autisitic, dyslexic, delayed, or who have other mental and physical incapacities which may be genetic or brought on by illness such as meningitis etc.

Anyone who wants to help can contact Ian or BIBIC direct. Meanwhile keep saving toner cartidges. They asked us to mention old mobile phones - each one raises £3.50, and foreign currency , even pre Euro coins and banknotes can be converted.

>>>OUARTERMAINE'S TERMS

The Sackville Players, one of Hove's longest-running drama groups, presents the award-winning comedy-drama 'Quartermaine's Terms' by Simon Gray.
Set in the 1960's in a school of English for foriegn students in Cambridge, it is an often hilarious but ultimately moving account of several years in the lives of seven teachers.
At the centre of the group is St. John Quartermaine, agreeable, pleasant, but hopeless as a teacher and desperately lonely outside his school life. He is, it seems, an almost permanent fixture in the staff-room, always available to listen to the personal problems of his self-obsessed colleagues, each of whom harbours a private tragedy.
In the end however it is Quartermaine himself who suffers the greatest misfortune.
Mixing very funny moments with rather more poignant ones, this play will simultaneously cheer you up and move you, deeply.
For further information phone Louise Taylor on Brighton 770629
Performances are at the church Hall of The United Reform Church in Blatchington Road, Hove.
The dates are:
Thursday 10th July, Friday 11th July and Saturday 12th July.
Doors open at 7pm, and the play begins at 7.30pm.

Tell me a little more about yourself...
  >>> JEMIMA - where is she now?

I left BMC in April 2003 and now work for Mousetrap Media where I help run journalism.co.uk. There's always shed loads to do, but I'm loving being able to get to grips with news writing - AND - we've just been shortlisted for two awards at this years' NetMedia Online Journalism awards! I'm off to Barcelona next week to report on it...

1. Fave film?
Tough question! Overall, probably Three Colours Blue by Kieslowski. Closely followed by Moulin Rouge, Shakespeare in Love, Indiana Jones, Babe, Dancer in the Dark... I could go on, but you're probably bored enough already.

2. Current read?
Several books on the go, as usual. Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut, the new Hunter Thompson tome, Mill on the Floss, Mansfield Park, Tony Benn's diaries (he let me), The Rainbow and The Church Mouse by Graham Oakley (Mother moving house = re-discovered childhood books!).

3. Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In a mirror?
Ok, something like 3 babies, a shack by the sea in Cornwall, home grown vegetables and a studio at the bottom of the garden where I can ramble away to my heart's content!
Reality bites though, so by the time I'm 38 (birthday on July 7th!!!) I might just about be earning enough to buy a studio flat in Brighton. Actually, probably not! I'll have a rabid hamster, no kids and will be the world's youngest misanthropic old person. Will aim to run a sweet shop near a school and torment children by putting signs up that say 'Only one child at a time' and pretending I'm a witch.

4. Greatest achievement so far?
I'm tempted to say 'getting a Glastonbury ticket this year' but I just don't really know. Can I get back to you when I'm 80?

5. Preferred tipple?
Addlestones cask-conditioned cider. Nectar of the Gods! And Baileys at Yuletime.

6. Childhood nickname?
Jo (hated the name Jemima due to playground trauma). My DJ name was Jiving Jo, so watch out. If I decide to retrace my musical roots you'll all be rocking out to Flash Gordon and The Reflex down the Pull & Pump...

7. Dream date?
Medjool?
It's not even funny, I know.
Do you mean a person or a scenario? Can I just take the idea and run with it? Well then...
I'm walking home and it's raining. Everything looks quite bleak because it's that flat, thin, boring rain - not big, wet heavy West Country rain. I start running, and as I - is this too much information?
Ok. Joaquim Phoenix or Johnny Depp - whoever gets there first! Quiet hillside, olive grove and goat bells ringing - somewhere in the Mediterranean. Fabulous cider, fresh seafood and delicious fruit laid out on a thick rug outside a villa. No mosquitos. Billie Holiday playing. No light pollution = stars. Skinny-dipping!

8. Fave album/song?
Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum. Weird choice for an atheist, but hey. Also Islands in the Stream by Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton and currently obsessed with Billie Holiday - if only there was a jazz karaoke somewhere! And The Lemon Song by Led Zep, Me & Bobby McGee by Janis, Maggie Magill by the Doors and Interpol's Stella was a diver and she was always down. And...

9. Fondest memory?
One of Mum and Dad's crazy college parties in our garden I think, probably on Guy Fawkes night. Three layers of socks, wellies, playing in my camp, checking the bonfire for hedgehogs, roast potatoes, chestnuts, fireworks, cocktails and burning an effigy of Thatcher on the bonfire.

10 Favorite possession?
An antique kimono my Mum gave me. It's a pale mushroom colour with very light pink and green embroidered flowers. Far too beautiful (and delicate) to wear though - I'd wreck it.

Your turn.......
Fancy a grilling? Email info@mediacentre.org or call 201371.
