The Arts Forum

24th March 10

The Arts Forum

TheArtsfORUM allows established and emerging photographers to film makers to articulate and showcase their current project to an audience, encouraging discussion and feedback in a peer-led
environment.

Led by Vanessa Jones and Beatrice Haverich, it is held on a selected Wednesday of each month.

In each session, 2 artists will present their current projects to the public.

Join us for an evening of inspiration

The aim of this event is to serve as a communications network to benefit both the audience and the artist through the process of an open critique.
A discussion of the presented bodies of work will provide a platform for the artist to speak about their aims and concerns of their projects.

Submission process:  please email around 10 images (small jpgs) from a body of work in progress to

CCPP is a grass roots project that works with underprivileged children in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

Our objective is to provide these vulnerable children with the opportunity to develop their imagination and skills through artistic expression, and providing them a safe place to play, learn and dream.

The project director, Felix, is coming to the UK for a series of planned exhibition events, including one in Brighton.

Come along and support a very good cause, make a bid for some excellent prizes in the charity auction (surf lessons and meals out in Brighton restaurants, for example), and watch a 25-minute film about the project. You will also get a free drink and a chance to browse some of the children’s paintings and buy some to take home!

Our children struggle daily with uncaring or abusive parents, living in extremely impoverished households, lacking regular access to food, clean drinking water and medical care.

Following its success over the past year, the Guerrilla Art Market is returning this Christmas.

The perfect opportunity to get handmade, unique gifts for everyone’s Christmas stockings, the Guerrilla Art Market promises to deliver the best in art and hand crafted goods from the south coast.

This Christmas the market hosts artists and designers whose clients range from Liberty, Topshop to local musicians Peggy Sue and the Pirates. It is a rare opportunity to purchase original artworks from the artists themselves, allowing you to discover more about the artists and their work.

Unlike anything else on offer in Brighton, there will be everything you could want for a Christmas hamper; from hand painted t-shirts, hand made books and self published zines, original oil paintings, limited edition prints and sculptures to hand drawn and signed sketches and limited edition wall vinyl - the market promises to be the best creative bargain hunt available in Brighton.

Market starts at 11:30am and closes at 5.30pm.   Music, mulled wine and refreshments will be served throughout the day.
