The ArtsfORUM

8th September 10

The ArtsfORUM

TheArtsfORUM allows established and emerging photographers to film makers to articulate and showcase their current project to an audience, encouraging discussion and feedback in a peer-led
environment.

Led by Vanessa Jones and Beatrice Haverich, it is held on a selected Wednesday of each month.

In each session, 2 artists will present their current projects to the public.

Join us for an evening of inspiration

The aim of this event is to serve as a communications network to benefit both the audience and the artist through the process of an open critique.
A discussion of the presented bodies of work will provide a platform for the artist to speak about their aims and concerns of their projects.

Submission process:  please email around 10 images (small jpgs) from a body of work in progress to

Mixed Media Exhibition

19th August 10

Mixed Media Exhibition

‘A Working Coalition’
Lee Cheneler, Gavin Frankcom, Jennifer Sinclair

August 19th - August 22nd
Private View: 5pm - 8pm Wednesday August 18th

As with the current political landscape in which we find unusual and unexpected partnerships ‘A Working Coalition’ has brought together three artists with which you may find more differences than similarities. However what ties them together is a view and outlook with their creative practice that is open to influence and discussion from all areas of contemporary art and to ignore the boundaries that form between disciplines.
The exhibition will include painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and video installations.

Lee Cheneler
For this exhibition Lee has produced a series of manipulated digital images in which he explores the human body. Lee currently lives and works in Brighton.

Gavin Frankcom
Exploration of space is the primary motif of Gavin’s work that crosses media including video, performance, drawing and sculpture. In this exhibition he will be showing a range of work that primarily focuses on the idea of the Romantic Landscape. Gavin currently is studying at
Nottingham Trent University.

Jennifer Sinclair
In this series Jennifer Sinclair worked in oils and graphite using anonymous found photographs as a starting reference. Although the drawings are also finished images, the graphite image creates a new reference point on which to build a full colour character. Jennifer currently is studying at Brighton University.

AFRICAN RHYTHMS MASSAGE, DRUMMING AND DANCE WORKSHOP

17th April 10

AFRICAN RHYTHMS MASSAGE, DRUMMING AND DANCE WORKSHOP

Magnus the Masseur

in collaboration with Esther Austin

will be running this dynamic workshop.

Life should be lived in a kaleidoscope of energy and fun. Too often we attend events which talk at you and talk to you and there is not enough interaction, nor movement, nor energy.

Magnus will be teaching his African Rhythm Massage in the form of a dance workshop, as movement, music and connecting with your spirit are what makes this massage so special.
Esther Austin will empower and inspire you with a creative session of the power of intention through creative writing, dance and drumming.

We want you to bring along an intention you have for your life.  Something you want to focus on.
Something you want to change.
Then through the power of expression we will empower you to focus on this intention to materialize this into manifestation.

You will walk away energized experiencing a deeper link to your soul and your purpose, a revised energy for life as you connect more with the playfulness of your inner child.
