A bold exhibition of art, film and information to raise HIV awareness in Brighton. Features work by prominent local artists, produced to a common theme - 'The vulnerability of Brighton's naked flesh', containing elements of the naked human form and that of the Royal Pavilion. They symbolise the vulnerability and dangers present within Brighton's sexualised culture.
The exhibition will end in an auction of the artworks, with all proceeds going to The Sussex Beacon.
This year we are hosting Brighton Naked and Vulnerable from the 4th to the 27th of May and Brighton Shambhala from 11th May until 13th May. Please see adjoining posts for details.
Brighton Shambhala is part of a global network of groups and centres offering a huge range of courses, from basic meditation to advanced retreats. Many Shambhala centres offer contemplative arts programmes based on the teachings of Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, the founder of Shambhala. The vision of Shambhala begins with the understanding that all humans, at the very ground of their being, have basic goodness & wisdom.
